Sakura Haruno (Puppet)

After he was freed by the Shadow Village from imprisonment, Sasori agreed to join their cause in exchange for being allowed to capture the kunoichi who captured him and destroyed his collection of puppets: Sakura Haruno. Sasori intended to start his collection again with Sakura as the first one.

Before the Fourth Ninja War began, Sasori was able to capture Sakura while she was away from the Leaf Village collecting medical herbs. Using a special sealing tag, Sasori was able to seal Sakura's consciousness away; Sasori wanted to preserve the mind that had bested him before he destroyed her body. After he finished turning Sakura's body into a puppet, Sasori resealed her consciousness into the puppet body so as to bring it life. In addition, Sasori place a talisman in Sakura's puppet form that would enable him to completely control all her actions without the need for chakra strings. Sasori also scratched a line through Sakura's headband to signify that she was no longer the Leaf ninja she once was.

Because her mind was sealed in the human puppet, Sakura retained her ability to perform all her jutsu as when she was human. However, she was little more now than a slave to Sasori's will.
